Hey this one here is another one of my grandpa's snares. We quite frank know nothing about Rogers or their snares. I am curious as to what year and how much is it worth?

Anyone have original wires for one thats relatively cheap? I need new heads for it too. I'm gonna be truthful in 10 years of drumming (started when I was around 8) I never used this drum ever.

Coated Diplomat or Ambassador on top, Ambassador Snare side. Standard 20 strand will be fine. You have a Rogers Powertone, aprox. 1968.

Darn your good. Its a ambassador head. I love the way them sound. Even a powerstroke doesn't have that sound.

Any idea on value?

about $200-250 tops, but they are awesome, extremely versatile snares. You should keep it and play it!

I will totally keep it. I wouldn't sell family stuff like that. I personally love the sound of that red snare i have a few posts below. That snare we have got so many complements on. It fits in with all kinda music. I will set up the rogers one day though. I never heard it in action so ya never know.

So spend the money (or move some heads from another snare) and give it a tryout. Clean it up and take it for a session. Think you might regret not trying it for 10 years.

Just curious - but what snare are you using right now?
