I'm considering selling my Super Gene Krupa. Pretty sure its '56 - '59 and the original finish is gold lacquer - which I don't think was real common for Slingerland. There are no extra hols and the lever is a repro from JP2 in TX. There are some nicks and scratches in the finish but overall its in very good shape. What's a fair asking price?

Looks like a really nice drum! You're correct about the year, too. The shell is most probably one-piece maple. From the tension rods I can see, they appear to be original and in good shape. The hoops appear to be nickel-over-brass. I don't see why you couldn't expect $400-$500 for this drum. Let's see what others have to say.
