I not only find this ad hilarious, but ironic.. I'm not a Rogers guy, but it doesn't mean that i don't think they're some of the best American made drums in history, and would love to own a set one day. The only thing that bothers me about vintage 60's-70's Rogers kits is their mounting hardware for toms and floor toms...Everything is done with a drum key, (FT leg brackets and all bass drum tom and L-arm mounting) and when you gig as often as i do, using your drum key for everything on your kit can get tedious and slightly annoying, and i commend all you Rogers guys and purists for the patience, passion, and love for these minor quirks, because their sound is worth every bit of that slight annoyance..
With that being said, on with the hilarity.. My wife and i are going to her hometown in eastern Quebec to visit my in-laws and are also renting a summer bay-side country "condo/loft" for some R'n'R (no, not rock n roll ;)) and there's a nice vintage Rogers kit for sale in that town for what i can only describe as stupid cheap, and not just for you Americans, but for us as well, which is pretty rare. Looks to be all there and in great condition, but it looks like it's missing all bottom hoops and tension lugs on toms, and all T-rod and claws on bass drum.. I'll leave the finish as a surprise for you guys to see once you click the ad.
I've said this a few times in the last couple of weeks, but, if i hadn't just bought my vintage Yamaha Tour series, i'd be coming back home with these little guys.. ENJOY !!
