I don't know what I read today that sent this ticking through my head...but by using an online "inflation calculator," I discovered that my 1967 Ludwig Downbeat kit, which cost $503.00, would cost $3,412 in 2012 bucks.

The 92.50 Supra would be $627.

Not a cheap kit!!

If it seems like the build quality doesn't measure up to one of today's Gretsch USA Customs...I can only say that the technology bar has been raised... a lot.

Ha, haaaa! Very interesting comparison. How much would that Porsche cost in today's dollars and how does that compare to what a Porsche cost, today? Whoa!!
