Hello I am new to this website but have been a Gretsch owner and player since 1968. I've been around since the early 60's playing and singing. Had numerous bands and owned a concert production company and worked with tons of Artists as a sound and lighting contractor. Now retired and enjoying golf and traveling to Palm Springs in the winter months as I live in Eastern Washington state. We ride a VTX 1800 motorcycle 2 up and love to cruise the highways and byways of southern states and especially up here in Washington. Ive owned about every make of drums including DW, Ludwig,Tama, Purecussion,etc,etc but, I bought my Gretsch Rock n Roll set in 1970 and have owned and played them the most. Stainless steel wrapped 5 piece. I love them but I'm not playing anymore and I am thinking about selling the entire kit and all the hardware. I worked with Willie Nelson and Paul English played this kits as he is an endorsed Gretsch fan since 1959. He offered me $3500.00 for them in 1995. I just couldn't part with them because I had one more tour to go on before I retired. Now I am ready to entertain offers. I still love to set in but the gigging thing is just way too much work for me anymore. I'm proud to be a member of this forum and

Welcome! And as the saying goes around here, if you don't give us pix, they a CB700! On the "reply to thread" page, you scroll down and you will see a button, "Manage Attachments" click on this button, then another box pops up and you can search your computer for pix and then post them.

Also, you may want to post those in the "For Sale" section, down the list.

Welcome fellow Gretschie...they are wonderful drums,good luck with the sale....You may find the market has changed in 15 yrs,unfortunately,not good news for the sellers

Do you play at all? Have another kit? Why don't you keep them, pull them out to play for fun. I sold my kit years ago when I thought I was retiring from drumming, and regreted it not long after. I've since bought other drums but always wish I had the original set.

2010 Yamaha Maple Custom

A 70s Gretsch set in "rock" sizes...two toms, floor and bass in a chrome wrap would probably get $800-900. Snare, stands cymbals etc. not included.
