Looks like clubdate combo with a downbeat snare and regular floortom.

I always loved that show. Probably should have used a Sonor kit, but still a fun scene.
Very proud owner of a new Blaemire Snare 6.5 x 14 made by Jerry Jenkins "Drumjinx"
Did you notice he is using a piccolo snare?Clapping Happy2
At least the drums had a German name on them....
He actually doesn't sound that bad. Surprised that it's really him playing instead of just "sticksyncing" like on other shows and movies.

Bob Crane was a pretty good drummer. Saw him play on tv more than once when I was a kid.
WOW!! Bob had some chops! That WAS a great show and I loved BC. The whole cast was a fun mix.
I remember hearing about his murder and really couldn't believe why someone would've done that to him. Don't think they ever arrested anyone, either.
Thanks for the memory.

Also on youtube I watched Crane's appearance, playing Dixieland, on the Smothers Brothers show. He's playing what appears to be a Ludwig Black Panther set. I found it interesting that about 1/2 way through the tune you hear a low-pitch 'thud' that made me wonder what he had done to achieve it. This sounded (to me) like a bass drum stroke but it was lower in pitch and not as melodic as the rest of his bass drum work...then I figured it out. A string broke on the stand-up bass fiddle: it can be seen in the next shot or two.
Anyway, it's a neat video from the days of my youth and I enjoyed it and the Hogan's Heroes video.
I may be wrong, but isn't most of the drumkit black diamond pearl while the floor tom looks like sky blue pearl?

Take a look at the other videos of him playing drums. He was a very good drummer.

I love that in a sitcom POW's can have a little jazz band in the alps away from the prison camp.

My uncle hated that show, he said that anything that trivializes the horrors of war was an insult to those who gave their lives. He saw some pretty horrific things and it caused problems throughout his life.
I never talked about being a big fan of Hogan's with him after that.
He also gave me most of my collection of jazz albums "ALBUMS" not cd's before he passed away, including my favorite Rich vs. Roach.
