OK, It's late, I'm tired and Kona's "Viking drum key" got me thinking.
So just for fun...
What drum item would make the best hood orniment? My vote is for a Ludwig double tom holder.

you might be able to bolt on a Ludwig lug or rogers lug, that's the only thing I can really think of aesthetically.
A set of roto toms...
Best use for 'em IMHO
Hmmmm
How about the Slingerland clamshell (super) strainer with lever attached?
The butt plate off a Slingerland Clamshell strainer would probably look pretty cool on an older car. Same with those old Sonor what are they called Teardrop lugs. Or maybe a Rolling Bomber lug on a wood panel jeep lol
Rogers Clockface strainer. Old Ludwig clip-on bass muffler. a COW BELL..WooHoo! Anything from Hoshino, on a Toyota, of course...just to clarify the rules...are we talking about the most useless type of hood ornament junk, or stuff that would actually look kool....? Adam snare stand. Just thought I would throw that out, since it is the most useless piece of crap I oersonally have ever seen someone pass off as equipment.
Yeah, I was thinking gaudy.
I like the idea of a cowbwell. Maybe a full LP percussion rack w/chimes. (Caddy)
The roto-toms would be cool, too.
Strainers work perfect on sports cars.
I had this beat up joke set of Star drums once and we talked, but never got around to, mounting a 4 barrel carb on top of the bass drum.
Another time a friend of mine had a beat up joke Honda Civic and used a plastic army man figure as a hood ornament, we a mounted it on the hood with drywall screws.
I had a beat up joke Chevy Caprice wagon that I was going to use an old mailbox (leave the flag on please) as a hood scoop. I've actually seen that before.
