How Best To Remove Rubber Cement From Drum Shells? Last viewed: 8 minutes ago

I am rewrapping three early 1960's Slingerland drums. They came to me with a poor rewrap job that was easy to remove from the shells. The wrap was probably easy to remove because the glue (rubber cement) was glopped on, and still not hardened. I am wide open to suggestions for the best methods to remove the glue. Mineral spirits?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Hey there...I also have to remove some old dried glue off of some shells in order to complete a rewrap job and I was thinking of sanding them down. Not too sure of anything out there that would be strong enough to remove the old glue but not hurt the wood. I'll probably start that project next week, so I'll let you know how it's going, unless you start yours first!
