Not sure on the mount. I'm not even sure this is a keeper. You were spot on about all the markers on this kit, thank you! The kick is so huge as is the floor tom. I might clean it up for a sale or try and trade it for some sizes I'd prefer. I'd really love a Ludwig B/O 3pc. This is a definite players kit. All the drums do have the speckle grey inside. There are no mufflers, but the wrap is good and all the hard ware (lugs and rods, bass legs) are original. The only thing not original was the tom mount on the bass drum that I removed to see whats under there. Not sure if I should put it back on or leave the extra holes exposed. What do you guys think?

Put a Roger's mount back in....that'l cover most of it...and should go back into the exiting hole pattern...

Talk soon

It doesn't look like it would fit the holes. And I'm thinking even more holes would make things worse?

It should fit right into the 4 bolt (inside) pattern ..

Use a dowl to plug the outer rim holes..

Underneath the bass drum,,,there should be some extra wrap (overlapped)...maybe carefully cut 1/3" inch away and cut lil circles to glue over the fresh dowled area..

Best of luck..

Or find a crappy orphan shell to cut out yr own Dowls from..

5ply..70s are easy to find..

Whale,

What you have are Fullerton 9/72 series, probably 1972-1973 from the four legs present on that 18" (Rogers went to 3 legs on the 18" and 20" floor toms around 1974-75). These are definitely "Players" drums due to all the extra holes. If that bass originally had a double tom mount, it would have been located between the top two front lugs, but there are no holes there, so unfortunately, this was probably a virgin bass which was violated by at least two non-Rogers mounts. I'm guessing from the non-Rogers tom arm that the 12" tom is missing the original Swivo mount and was redrilled for an after-market mount. The floor tom looks great though. The missing tone control is no big deal as they are easy to come by.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do with them. Even "Swiss-cheesy" Rogers shells can sound better than most new foreign stuff. Keep us informed if you decide to put them on the auction block, or list them here in the For Sale section.

I was just getting ready to put these on ebay. Thank you for the info! The toms do tune up amazingly well. might be the best sounding 12" tom I've ever heard. The kick and 18" ft are just way to much for my tiny little bedroom that I play in.

A lot of us usually use the 18" as a bass...the 12 remains ..

And get yrself a 14" rack Tom...and use a R.I.M. Mount and turn it into a floor Tom...14" rack toms in this series can be bought for $150max..

Or even trade out yr bass drum for 1...

The 18 can be played by getting yrself a Danmar Floortom to bass drum conversion kit..($50/2nd hand)... There's no extra pieces needed, other then maybe changing the head..(personal choice)

Or you can do what I also did by..getting yrself a set of 18" hoops...and use the T's n claws from yr bass drum..! Also reuse the leg Colletts & Spurs.

Keep the leg mounts on the drum...cause you can use these to hold toms, accessories etc...

I didn't really even consider that! Would be easy to pick up a 14 or even a 16 and use the kick for parts. The hoops, heads and lugs alone would cover my cost to convert the 18 to a small bass drum. Hmm... options.
