How do you identify the series Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I found an orphan Slingerland bass drum. I know it's from the late 70's because it's blackrome. How can I tell what series it's from? I want to try to get a complete set up in that series. I was looking at the catalogs on here but found several that it could belong too.

maybe all the series just came from a shell bank and the configurations & colours are what made series...... just a guess. I'm a new to slingys too, and have been learning alot the past few days. if you find out let me know and vice versa? if you post a pic of the drum, badge and iside of the drum i will try to take a crack at it.

I'll post some more pictures soon. The one I found is a late 70's badge. It's in the blackrome which was only from 77-79. It's also a 14 by 20 which I found in a catalog on here for the Roadie series in 1979.

Looking through the catalogs it seems the only way to tell the series apart with the Slingerland brand is by the sizes of the drums (mainly the toms) and the tom post.

It's sometimes difficult to know exactly when series begin & end. There were quite a few sets made until "77 that had 20" basses. ..& since Blakrome started in 77. there's a slim possibility it was used on these kits. (Pop Outfit, Rock Outfit, Modern Solo). I guess the true experts will know if Blakrome ever shows up in these configurations.

I've found several blackrome sets on the internet but most of them are bigger bass drums (22 to 24). It seems with the 22 and 24 inch bass drums they came with different sized toms. The floor tom was always that biggest difference. I was loving the 18inch floor tom sets.
