Before it had the name "Supraphonic" that snare appeared under the name "Super Ludwig" with the P83 and a 5" depth. Not to be confused with a "Supersensitive". I believe that is about 1958-59 (transition badge) or so. Or am I preaching to the experts here? :)

Same way the Jazz Festival started life called the Barrett Deems and became the Jazz Festival after a few years...

In both cases the later name under which it became famous is the name which is used conversationally.
