Why don't you just tell us what it's being offered for ? (in general, I would advise you to save your money, & get an 8 lug snare). These Pioneers are only good deals if they're available for peanuts. It has the vintage cache of the transition badge, but that doesn't mean much sonically.

I saw a few Ludwig pioneer snares sell on ebay for over $250, but they were in great condition. I would offer the seller $100.

First let me say i like these Pioneer 6 lug drums. They sound great in the studio work i have done.Put a Remo P/S on top and a Ludwig "X" thin snare head on the bottom you will get a Great sounding drum.On price i would say 100.00-125.00 for the condition the drum is in...Mikey

i saw that one on ebay. it caught my eye because i have virtually the same drum. these are the last of the transition badge ludwigs. also the last of that super cool large pioneer p85 that was used long before the p85's that we all know.

ive got 4 pioneers. ive paid 125,180,200 and 500(galaxy). my transition duco was in pieces when i got it. had fun cleaning it up and getting it up and running.

You know you look at what they are listed at on ebay and what people are saying about the drum and it seems you could easy go $175.00 and not over pay... that might not be a bargin price but it seems a price you wouldn't ever have regret paying.

I personally think the vintage duco finish and the transistion badge make it a very interesting and cool drum.
