Thanks for the nice comments,...I took it out to a gig 2 weeks ago. (small venue, 100 people max)The drum kit had only 2 microphones, one in front of the BD, one overhead.During the sound-check, the 2 club-owners complained the Acro was too loud!!??I took out the Pioneer and they were happy,...I admit that I'm a hard-hitter but did you ever have a similar experience ?

I know this sounds crazy but it's something we use to do back in the day, pull the top head & throw in a handful of cotton balls. The cool thing about using them is that it doesn't completely kill the overtones & they're light, so they don't create a "rebound sound"...plus it's easy to adjust because you can add or subtract (from your balls LOL) until you reach a desired level.
