My buddy had this kit back in the mid-90s and we pretty much trashed the thing not knowing what we had... of course, all we had was the bass drum and tom with no mounting hardware... notice the cheapo snare with no strainer and the wrong hoop on the top... But it was that gold sparkle Ludwig with the keystone badge...

Kits:
1966 Ludwig Hollywood Gold Sparkle Pearl 12/13/16/22
Star 3pc in Red Glass Glitter (1960's)
Snares:
1959 Ludwig Pioneer Mahogany
60's Ludwig Pioneer Gold Sparkle
60's Ludwig Acrolite (Keystone)
Ludwig/Custom 6.5x14
1960's Bolero (MIJ)

That kit was pretty gold from day one that I remember it... never had the bottom hoop on the tom. 99% sure the badges were Ludwig.

I'd be surprised if that snare was anything name-brand... I actually think we painted the snare red from whatever it was... and I'm not sure what the black drum was but I know it was a deep snare because we ended up using it later on when he got a different kit.

The funny thing was, at the time we thought that kit was a piece... we ended up getting a CB Percussion kit and thought it was "better" because it was a full, real kit...

Oh, stupid kids. I remember the kit being a hand me down from his uncle so we abused it.
