And that $3,500 5 piece Slingerland kit is located where? Perhaps in his imagination.

Hmmm......aside from the discrepancies in the ad....these are beautiful drums. If I was a Slingerland player/collector and could afford them I'd be all over them.

Thanks for bringing me up-to-speed on Slingerland.

I have no trouble seeing Slingerland drums being highly sought after and going for big bucks in the near future. They are fantastic drums and have a rich history from the little I've read about them. I did buy a Slingerland Marching/Parade drum = 15" probably late 60's - 70's I think - a few months ago and it is a solid drum. I use it as a tom for now. The hardware is very well made...I like it.

They may be a little overpriced in today's economy but there are lots of folks out there with a lot of disposible cash......so you never know ....someone in that catagory may be looking for these very drums.

If I had the money I'd probably be buying everything and make a very nice drum/drum history museum for all to enjoy. But......I do not have the money and I will have to 'dream on.'

Kona,For whatever reason, Slingerland drums do not command the same kind of market value that Ludwig, Rogers and Gretsch do. That is either good or bad depending on whether or not you are selling or buying. There have been threads posted about this before and I have my thoughts on the subject, but suffice it to say that Slingerland is arguably the best "value" in the vintage drum world.

This kit seems more like it's in the right price range. Now, it doesn't have as many drums, nor does it include cymbals, but...just sayin'

I would say it is an exceptional deal. All these 3ply vintage drums for $1500. I'm surprised they are still available. To the contrary.....they are not in the 'price range' in my humble opinion........these drums are dirt cheap.

Don't you think?

thoughts?

Kona,

That is pretty much the deal with Slingerland; they just do not garner much. It's sad as they are great drums, but that makes it easier to buy them!

It's the "Amazing and Extremely Rare" 14 drum 15 piece kit. My guess is he's Mathematically challenged ... hence the inability to count to fifteen and the obvious unfamiliarity with United States currency exceeding one hundred dollars. Such a sad victim of the public educational system.

Aaaaah. Now I see it. Ooooh, maybe he can add a few zero's, due to the extra rarity. : )
