Found this video of the great Ian Paice from Deep Purple During his solo in The Mule from July 2015. You pretty much get to see everything he's playing from the angle this video was taken. Paice is almost 70 and he still blows me away. He's been my biggest influence for the last 25 years and I never get tired of watching him. Check him out.

One of my favs's for quite some time. And still great as ever at almost 70! wow! Back in 06 I took my boys to their very first concert. Deep Purple. Ian was playing his sig Pearl set in sliver sparkle. Which looks like he still uses. GREAT drummer and music I have just loved for decades.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Ian turned 67 this year, so he will be 70 in 2018.

He's changed his style a little in the last few years. There's a few things he doesn't do anymore like the one handed roll or the power triplets around the kit. Maybe because of age I don't know but his chops are still incredible. I read an interview with Ian in I think DRUM magazine, and he said that his time on the drums is limited. That in the next few years he won't be able to play anymore or like he does now. It was something to that effect. I can't remember word for word what he said.

I saw him years ago when we were both much younger ....... he is still quite a showman and still has great command of his drum set

I always loved the way he plays. It's a great thing that the top guys who are now older keep playing as long as possible, that's a good thing for all of us. Just keep drumming I say.

I love the jazz era

I think with guys like Paice is they still love to do it. But I wonder if some feel they have to keep doing it. They've been doing it so long and they love it so much that they can't stop. They don't want to retire cause then what. I think a lot of them would go crazy. Then again maybe not I don't know. I myself am only 41 and If I'm still alive in my 60's you can bet I'll still be playing.
