Calling Tommyp! I think this a good one for you to figure out. Here's the ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300608831521

I believe this is a one-off Holiday snare drum, using the original Gretsch shell, B&B lugs, Utility strainer and Swivo tone control. Because of the style of "Rogers" logo, I'd date this to 1964. A real anomaly, but very cool!

So, what is this? Let's hear from some experts out there!!!!

Stock early 60s flat shell Holiday model with no paper tag and a different throw off and butt than the stock Holiday Model...8 lug drum...could have a "TOWER" typed interior tag and would make more sense. No interior paper tag glue mark. Experiment messin round Covington fun or one off. Rogers didn't make metal Tower snare drums. So...this one is it! More might surface over time.

Throw off should read, "Made in England" on the back when off the drum. No extra holes. Same throw Rogers used on late 1950s snare drums into the early 1960s.
