Ideas/Solutions? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Just picked this kit up off of ebay. Any thoughts on what I can do with these holes in the kick...aside from redoing the drum? Are there plates, covers, vintage mounts out there to be found? Just leave it alone? I appreciate any and all insight you can offer.

Maybe have a trophy shop make you up an engraved silver or brass plate with your name or the Premier logo or something like that on it. Anything that looks like it "belongs" can hide the holes and not look out of place.

Looks like a Slingy "Set-O-Matic" and spur mount went there. A friend has fashioned stainless delete plates for my Tama Superstar and Pearl Export sets. They look O.K.

The darker the plate the less attention it will grab, on BDP. Maybe blow-torch it...

You can also try something like this:-)

first you would have to close the holes with some pieces of wood, maybe you wanna try it;-)

A Sign That You Need A Project or That You Are Drunk. When I read this post I thought - 'wouldn't mind making a few maple plugs, patching a few holes' Sober at the moment!

Nice drum!

LMAO Trout!

I recently covered a 'LARGE' hole in a nice 20" stop sign badge Gretsch with some custom plastic.

Go to a well stocked plastic sign engraving shop. Pick the color plastic you want, have something engraved on the piece if you wish.

I had made the shop owner a template and had him drill the holes. I brought it home, used four correct length round head screws (stainless) and cinched it up with 'good' lockwashers and nuts.

Yeah, it's noticeable, but it has my personal 'fishwaltz' logo on it... just because I guess. It looks better than the holes did, and cost about ten bucks total.

I found some small pre-cut sheet metal squares at home depot that I might give a try. It comes in black and might be an easy, somewhat decent solution. Easy enough to work with, cheap, and be kind of close to the wrap in color.
