Identifying a supraphonic Last viewed: 8 hours ago

As was recommended I'm starting a new thread for a supraphonic I bought along with a 1980s unidentified (most likely Tawainese) set.

I'm in the process of trying to find the year and also whether all the hardware matches the hoop as some have suggested that that rims could be non-ludwig or Ludwig (Rotarded) from a different year. The snare has ludwig written on it as well.

http://imgur.com/qCVz9Gs - It's got the Lud a loy sticker

http://imgur.com/LzeeAZI - Here's a good look at top and bottom rims -

http://imgur.com/Cu6ASy8 - with a quick soap and water cleaning

http://imgur.com/CZvlYIj - Pretty good look at lugs

Someone on here (Fayray) identified it as a supra from the year they transitioned from the Chicago plant to the Monroe plant and It's looking like he was right. Any help on verifying the year and rims, or suggestions for how best to clean it up would be appreciated. I bought the snare and set for $275.

Looks to me like the year fayray gave you is probably correct. As for cleaning I use neverdull it works great for me.

That does look just like it. I think that's owned by a user on here. Thanks for the cleaning advice. I will clean it up and post the pictures here. There is a little rust on the throw, should I use 0000 steel wool on that? I know people generally say any steel wool is a no-no but I'd like to get the rust off.

Balled up tin foil works great for these applications, with a little of whatever chrome cleaning product that you use.
