I'm an old **** Last viewed: 6 hours ago

I don't know where the time has gone, I'll be 62 this weekend, and I actually feel like I'm 30. I know it sounds crazy. I have a 30 year old mind stuck in an old body. I was never in this shape when I was younger, I was the heaviest person in school. not much for sports. Now I swim 2 miles a week, I run 3miles every now and then, work out in the gym doing weights everyday (yes religiously!!) my latest thing is I can now do 10 pull ups at a crack. I climbed Mt Rainer a few years ago. PLUS, I play the drums in an aggressive rock band. what do you make of all this? just to crazy to think about, but the reality of the numbers SIXTY TWO are somewhat scary to me. Hmmmm

I did provide a good example for my kids though with regard to health and fitness although my 28 year old has taken fitness to a whole new level. LOL this is a recent pic of him ....

That's ah big 'ole boy! My wife is big into fitness and excising. She conquered her goal of doing a fitness show a few years ago. I was, and am, super proud of her. She doesn't train that hard anymore, but maintains good fitness still. I wish I had that drive to be in that kind of shape!!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Forget the number...given all the things you do, you're not old. It's how you feel and a state of mind. I'm 71 and still do all the things I did when I was 50 or 60 (maybe a little slower). And, being able to play the drums once in a while is really important to keeping me feelin' good.

I have been thinking about this too. I turned 57 yesterday and still feel like I did when I was 28. I still play as hard and technical when I want to as I used to. I don't feel older, I don't think I look like other non musician 57 year olds. I still have nice looking woman approaching me, maybe I am just lucky. I can't party like I used to though. More than a few beers or drinks and I am done for a couple days as far as shaking it off completely. I do enjoy staying at home more, and never really go out unless I am performing. I was out and about all the time in my 20's and 30's, and early 40's. I am always in bed now by 9 weekdays watching the tube or surfing the net, earlier I am fooling around with a drum or drum set or in my studio. Taking it a day at a time.
