info needed on my slingerland set Last viewed: 2 hours ago

i am looking at selling all my drums. I have had this set since 1995. I dont know a whole lot about their value but do know that they are not made any more and are collectible.

The drums are in decent shape. the bass drum wood rim is cracked,but has been that way since i got it. It looks to me that the tom mounts on the bass drum has been replaced before i got them.

the serial # on all the drum but the one big tom are all silver with Niles,il. the one tom is gold with Niles,il on it. All drums show a "P" on the inside of them.

I also have any original slingerland hihat stand, but the leather strap that connects the petal to rod is broke.

Please let me know what the value of this set would be and also if you think i should sell the drum and cymbals separate. Another hep would be great.

Since the set has been 'irreversibly'(without very expensive reconstructive wood work)altered,you can only ask what someone is willing to pay.I think a ballpark figure of $400 is realistic.Not only is the tom mount not Slingerland,they had to bore holes to install it,and mounted the 13" backwards with the seam showing out front.On the other hand,the Sky Blue Pearl looks very clean,and you could not get a set of that quality new for twice that money.

So I conclude with....$400 for the set w/the hi hat and stands,sell the crash and ride seperately.Probably get another $200-250 for those in total.

Anyone else?

I think 400 could be a bit high with those mods... Sell the cymbals separate.

Yes with the mod's to the tom mount i would say 400.00 for the drum's and stand's top's..Nice finish it looks like the tom mount on the tom's can be fixed back to slingerland tom mount's but no hope for the bass drum...i also think the mounted tom's are 9x13 and 10x14 right?...Mikey

I was noticing that the dimensions looked odd on the r.h. mounted tom.13-14-16 with a 20 bass?So my comments on the 13 being backwards should read 14,if indeed that's the case.

Sorry about the news regarding your drums.There are many altered drums out there who's value has been significantly diminished by what seemed at the time to be an upgrade.I must admit to being guilty of this same travesty myself.Last year I put Pearl swiveling spurs on a M.I.T.set from the mid 70's.I'll flail myself with a cat -o-nine tails later.....

$400 sounds like a good place to start.

The good news is that my parents bought me the set back when i was in school. So anything i sell it for will be profit for me thanks

You should turn that 13" rack tom around and flip the mounting bracket so the seam is inside. That would improve the look a lot. The hardware isn't worth much. As a "players" kit, it's worth maybe $400.
