This is Red Satin Flame Slingy I just saw for sale. The seller hasn't listed a price, but is taking offers. What could this be worth? Is a floor tom findable? As always, I'd love your knowledge and opinions. Thanks!!

Anybody? I dug a bit. The best thing I got on here was Purdie Shuffle comparing Slingerlands to Rodney Dangerfield, which cracked me up.

I can only give an opinion 'cause I lack the knowledge, but I would think finding a floor tom with that wrap would be quite a task. I don't recognize that snare either. Yep, Purdie is right, the Slingerlands get no respect, but they are really good drums. The kit I rehearse on is a '60s Slingerland, not too dissimilar to the kit you've posted, and it sounds fantastic. But the no floor tom thing would be a deal breaker for me. How in the hell do you just 'lose' a floor tom anyway?
The snare is a tiawian model snare, the bass drum has non original spurs on it, the floor tom must have been sold off offer them $200.00.
Thanks guys! I knew the snare was MIT. I actually wrote to someone last week who was selling the exact same model, claiming it to be Ludwig, and politely filled them in. I don't know my Slingerlands enough to have realized that the spurs had been changed. The floor tom is definitely a deal breaker. Too rare a wrap to find one easily! There is a gold (yellow?) satin flame floor tom on ebay right now that is the only thing close. It would have been nice to play around with a Slingy sinced I have owned Gretsch, Ludwig and Rogers kits. Anyways, thanks again for the info.

Because of the missing floor tom, I'd give these a pass.
Now, if you're seriously looking for a great Slingy kit that will probably sell for a bargain price, check this one out:
I'd put in a $650. bid and hope they go for under $500. at close of auction. At $410. with 7 hours left to go, this one won't break the bank.
BTW, I'm a huge Dangerfield fan, I thought Rodney was a perfect metaphor for Slingerland's position in the vintage marketplace. 'No respect!' Cool Dude
