Came across this ad this morning. It seems a bad re-wrap ?
Is the white interior typical of that era ?
I"m gonna if he is willing to sell just the toms.

Interiors look painted or re-painted to me - a little too bright white. I think you're right about the re-wrap too, and the BD hoops are definitely not vintage Ludwig...

white interior with blue olive badges.
That would be a really nice player's kit if you through on some decent hoops. I would hope those drums could stay together.
Hmmmm, strange someone would paint those interiors white like that. They look like nice 3 ply shells. Ludwig's 70's Champagne wrap was more pinkish than there 60's of the same.
Their modern hoops do have the wider inlay. If you can get them pretty cheap, you could make a nice set out of them. Do they have the rims for the toms ? Would definitely paint the inside bass drum hoops black. Get the bass drum too, mthats a nice complete set.
Look at that seam on the top of the bass drum. It didn't come from the factory that way. The wrap may be lifting from the drums just like the hoops. And what's that pile of hardware in the bottom of the bass drum? What happened to the snare? Detour ahead...
I do believe it is a re-wrapping gone bad..... That hardware seems to be the claws for the hoop ( or some of it anyway). I rather get a beat up original set than a badly restored one.
I agree, a re-wrap done badly. The wrap on the large rack tom appears to be too long, I have not seen a Ludwig with an overlap so big. Plus the badges you can see all look like they have been taken off and reapplied. For the right price, would be a good player's kit or one to work on and bring back to life.
Pass on it. It's a horrendous rewrap job. What that is, is a 70's Ludwig kit that somebody painted and then butchered. Unless you can get the whole thing cheap, walk away. Right out of the box you're looking at another $250.+ just for wrap.
Dang, the seam on top of the bass drum (which shouldn't be there,) looks like it was cut with the guys teeth!
