I got this 20" Club Date tonight. No extra holes at all. No legs or spurs even! Is that strange? It is stamped 1970. Blue olive badge. Needs a little TLC but should be a great drum!

It is odd to not have spurs......unless it was a marching bass......is there any indication of any harness loops ever fitted? If not, it still could have been a marching bass....early harnesses were capable of clipping on to the tension rods as well.....

It's a 3244P Ludwig Century Seperate Tension bass drum ordered without the eye carrying hooks for marching, which was a specified ordering option. These bass drums were usually used in the folding cradle type stands for concert. It is not a virgin club date bass ... technically.

Page 37 of the 1971 cat shows them. They came in 20, 22, 24, and 28 sizes in lacquer or pearl.

Is it the same hardware as a club date? They wouldn't have used different shells for the marching stuff would they?
