ipod - horrible to use Last viewed: 8 hours ago

My daughter and I still have not figured out how to get the music that she's got stored on my pc over to the iPod Classic. We did download a program that was suppose to let us load the music onto the iPod...without going through iTunes. It looked like it was working but in the end = no music was copied over to the iPod.

I told her I will buy her a different device tomorrow and we will use the iPod Classic for a paperweight I guess....until one of the young nephews visits and can come up with something that works.

This IS the computer age and you have to buy all this stuff and learn to use it or be left behind. I personally would like to see this 'age' come to a screeching halt and we get back to a more practical existance.

Other-Topic:

I bought a new printer today - a colour Lazer Jet. Got it home and found that it was not built to print photos....and I wanted to do that. When packaging it up I could not even get it back into the box it came with. I was creative and put everything in the same box and used an extention on the top to keep all the bits n' pieces in place. I returned it and got my money back. I bought a Canon Pixima MX532 instead. I got it home and noticed it did NOT come with a USB cord. It is both wireless and hardwire (USB) connection abled. But, I guess they figure most of us will use the Wireless feature and they do not need to supply a USB cord. Well...guess what! My pc is NOT wireless. So now I have to go out and buy a USB cord. Lord help me........I may take this one back and buy a piece-o-crap $29 ink jet and be done with it.............

Don't get frustrated. There is a conversion. Save all as mp3 , then transfer. Hopefully.

I have no problem using my iPod/iTunes on my Win7 pc. I do not have an Apple computer, nor would I want one. Of course the iTunes software is compatible with Windows operating systems, it definitely works with Win7.

iTunes is only a very simple program.

Haha - yes! Do not come to Kona for pc advice.

I think in the end it might just be a Sync issue between my pc and the iPod. There may be something I clicked at one time that is causing all this frustration. I don't have time for it........other that getting ****ed at not being able to copy the 1000's of mp3 files directly from the file on my pc onto the ipod. It should be just a 'click n' drag' function - don't you think? Maybe not though.

It's an agreed method of file storage that Apple provides that satisfies the record labels worry over piracy and helped to bring everybody onboard to get away from the old way and usher in a new way. Some of the other providers that came on board afterward had different agreements. Some methods just overtly allow piracy, almost thumb their nose at it, and cheat many artists of their money.

That's why I only have vinyl - I buy them - listen to them - record them onto cds = no problem. I also have Satellite Radio in my car....pay for it and enjoy it.

I don't want to be messing with stealing music off the internet.....It's not only illegal but probably WAY too difficult for me to do. Haven't got time for it.

Funnily enough, Kona, I tried to do what should be a really straightforward thing in iTunes yesterday (adding a folder to library). It didn't work it didn't work it didn't work... And then suddenly, I incredulously noted that the folder contents had actually been added. Twice. Well, I tried the same procedure about ten times. Two out of ten... Not bad?

So, I agree that iTunes is a PITA and the crappiest piece of software on my computer.

I still like my iPod though.

I found Iphone 3GS the best audio quality player ever for me.

Yes , I agree that iTunes system sucks, but it's very easy to convert your high quality audio files to losless ALAC format and then drag/drop to your player.

And the best: it plays 24bit/48kHz.
