Hi tamadrum,The listing does say blue oyster pearl so this isn't a 'Ringo kit'. Since then, I have found Slingerland marching bass drum shell for $100 without any hardware. I can source hardware online for around $80. Would this be a good project kit to make a regular bass drum? ThanksSeb
I would say no,..not deep enough !!

The sizes are 22" x 14" which are regular '60's sizes, right?

Field drums don`t have spurs or mounts,..some drilling required !! Maybe not the mounts but without spurs it`s mobile !!

I did think of that and to avoid drilling, I'll try and source clamp on spurs and A bass drum anchor like this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/drums-percussion/gibraltar-bass-drum-anchor
Apparently, you can use a strap to attach your bass drum to the stool? Which could be another method.
Thanks

Here is a photo:
I found 16 claws for $10, Hoops I have already (only metal ones which I will upgrade one day), tension rods are cheap online, the other 4 claws I can get online (drumfactorydirect) and 10 double ended lugs for $25.
The photo is straight from the ebay listing
You would definitely need spurs for a project kit. The anchors as depicted and just to harness the forward creep associated with basically kicking the drum. If you are looking for a project shell, there are a lot to be found for $100, especially Slingerland. I bought a 14x22 COW with no hardware, 3ply with rings for $60 and a 14x24 5 ply (or is that 6 ply?) that is stripped and ready for new wrap for $15. Slingerland spurs will set you back a bit if you want period correct parts. Current spurs would be cheaper. Just something to think about.
