USPS it is I thank you all for this insight into border swapping, my cusomer in not far from the border I will see if he knows someone or a service I can send these cymbals to if not I will send to his home he is saving enough money that if he had to pay taxes I think he would still be way ahead..

ok USPS wants 129.00 to ship to Canada and they say they do not insure for over 675.00 What the hey? It is hard to believe it is such a pain in the you know what.. to ship a guy some Cymbals....Hmmmm

It's no different going the other way either! I posted recently looking for a cost-effective way to ship a bare floor tom shell from Ontario to Cali. Have been quoted no lower than $150 so far. Everyone is "cubing" it and pricing by volume.

But it's the border crossing that seems to add hugely to the price.

There is no duty on any used drum pieces as far as I can tell, and taxes are something we all have to deal with, so what is all the extra charge to cross the border? It's not easily explained, so it's probably a simple matter of gouging.

If you find a service that is cost effective, let me know.
