Is this Rogers Kit Worth it? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Hi all!

I am currently playing a 70's vistalite and Im looking to sell it and get back into Wood kits. The sizes I am looking for are 24, 13, 18 which happen to be on this rogers kit I stumbled onto through craigslist.

Anybody able to make anything of this kit? Should I jump on this and have it be my return to wood? Or should I wait it for another vintage kit with these sizes to show up? I've only really ever played Ludwig and dont know anything about Rogers.

Definately my eyes,...just used a photo feature and the spur threw me,..it looks nice, but if your a Ludwig guy,....I say stay that way, they make a nice product too !!

Kinda high with that 18" floor tom. if it were a 16", I'd say go for it.....

Are you Rogers fixated? I've got a *really* nice Ludwig WMP 12/13/16/22 that I'm getting ready to sell.......Bill D.

Get some tag information off the drums. What do the paper tags say? Are they rectanglular yellow Fullertons, or are they small tag 9/72 Fullerton? Are they five ply or are they three ply?

I have a 16x16 Floor tom in black I would let go for 150 shipped. It needs caps on the knobbies and legs. It is in nice shape otherwise. Having 6 other Swivo floor toms makes using this one rather easy for me. I just switch caps and pull a set of legs when I use it.

I have owned both Rogers and Ludwig kits from the 60's and 70's,If the kit is original,in good shape and is a late swivo era 1969-1976,Paper tag inside should say fullerton california if drums are1969-1971 Tag should say 9/72 if 1972 to 1975,if those are the sizes you want I think that 695.00 is a really good deal,the Memriloc kits from 1976 on are going for 400.00 500.00 range,but the later swivo kits are going more in the 600.00 900.00 range on avg.The rogers 5 or 3 ply with rerings sound and feel different than ludwigs 3 plys,better or worse would be personal choice,and I have heard that the Rogers 24 kicks are absolutely thunderous.It looks like a virgin kick,that kit could be part of a catalogued double kick outfit,there was one where only one of the kicks was fitted with a BD tom mount.They were very well built good sounding drums,and if you are looking for a rock kit with volume and a tremendous low end for an entry level kit price,you could do one heck of a lot worse IMO.

I might have a trade to consider. I have a Rogers "Big R" in ebony 22,12,13 and 16. In very good condition. I have a blue Vistalite snare looking for a kit...

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
