14x14 WMP keystone era 3ply floortom shell

bought this in a pile of import drums at a pawn shop, it was wrapped in black marble contact paper with pearl copy lugs and a japanese tom mount plate on it. It's missing the keystone, been re painted white inside and it's still got contact paper adhesive on the pearl. the wrap is still super tight, yellowed a little but not too bad. AND the lug holes were elongated to fit the pear lugs.

I already have a clubdate 12/14/20 so I really dont wast to build up another downbeat type kit but I guess I just feel sorry for this old shell.

anybody think it's worth getting hardware for, lugs and legs and a muffle cost a small fortune these days. I know somewhere there's somebody with a newyorker or a jazzette hunting for a 14" beat up or not.

That was such a great finish and your drum really is developed a great patina. I'm new to the forum to let me ask you a question. Is, the majority of the forum members actual collectors or are there also players on the forum that wouldn't mind that the drum isn't perfect as long as it looks cool, and they can play it?

There are PLENTY of players on the forum. I'd guess they're a pretty healthy majority. Many of us have respect for collectability (more like authenticity), but wouldn't turn up our noses at a vintage drum that's acquired some bumps, bruises, and battle scars over its lifetime. Especially if it sounds great.

I'm certainly no expert, (though I've been learning a lot on this forum) but I'd say, that the fact that it's a 14" alone would make it worth restoring. Maybe not rush out and start purchasing hardware right away, but I'd hang onto it myself, until parts became available, or there's always the option to sell if you've not got the patience, or interest yourself.

I have to pay more attention to what I'm reading. I immediately thought it was a 16 inch drum, but that's a 14 inch. It's really cool
