I am sometimes not sure where to post these type threads since these are new drums, but have their origins from a vintage drum company (Blaemire).

Just posted this on our site as well as on our FB page.

This kit and two others will be at the Chicago Vintage and Custom Show.

Jerry - Are those buggers hand-painted? I can't imagine how you're bonding graphics to the FB shells.

You and Dave are taking it places that Allen never even dreamed of! Amazing looking drums. Another J&M first!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

No problem from me... but then David and Tommy haven't asked me about content... um, ever. :)

Those are GORGEOUS drums! Nice work.

Here it is from our site

solidWrap™ is an innovative approach to custom graphics for drum shells. Our unique molding process allows us to fully encapsulate a very thin, printed silk cloth inside our shells. The graphics sit below the surface of the shell protected by about 1mm of wound glass.

The Process

The inside of the shell is wound with white resin which is used in order to bring out the full, vibrant color of the over-wrapped printed silk. The printed silk is then completely saturated with resin, wrapped around the shell and then over-wound with clear resin and glass. The entire shell cures as one solid unit containing no plies or seams.

The Result

The printed silk sits below several layers of clear resin and glass. The grain of the glass and resin add to the unique visual texture of the graphics while allowing even small details to show through. The result is a completely unique graphic style manufactured with the same solid glass grain construction that gives every Jenkins-Martin shell its unique sonic characteristics. The silk fabric is custom printed, so there are few limitations to what can be achieved!

Wow, that's really amazing!

I would assume fade would be kept to an absolute minimum then, unless you like to bake the kit in the sun.

Exceptional job.

That's an amazing and creative/innovative process! Gotdam, Yankee know-how!

I'm a graphic artist by trade, the ideas and possibilities for useable graphics is almost endless. Desert scenes, underwater themes with coral and fish, Space scenes with stars, galaxies and planets, you can go nuts coming up with cool ideas with that process of yours!

You and Dave are killing it, Jerry. Keep up the really great work.

Amazing process! I first thought it was a wrap but it's way beyond that. You guys are on the cutting edge that's for sure. Just beautiful work. I love the left ear comment in your description too. One of my all time favorite paintings and you both certainly made it into another great work of art.
