As I said earlier, I saw them in person first, then made a serious cash offer, which was declined. I then had to fight for them. Any idea on the year they were made?

nice camcos bbk, and welcome to the club. that is a pretty nice kit. did a snare come with them? what does the badge have on it, if they are from oaklawn,Il they were made any where between 1961 and 1971. oaklawn had 2 cloud badges, one with oaklawn, Il. and one with oaklawn, Il. USA and it is my understanding that the badge with oaklawn,Il. is of the early years and the badge with oaklawn, Il. USA is of the later years of production in the illinois era. John (Purdie Shuffle) and Steve (Dolfan54) know alot about camco drums so hopefully they will pipe in their :2Cents: and give more helpful info.

like i said nice kit, can't wait to see the finished results.

ps, i'm a camco member too, lol.

Stay Wiggly,
Robyn

Picked this up not too long ago. Not a stellar deal, it was on the open market, but I was able to see it in person before I bought it, so I knew it was worth what I was willing to pay.

I would say you got an excellent deal! They are going clean up and into a great sounding set of early 60s, 4ply Jasper Camco's, that I would say are worth closer to $3,000.00. Congratulations on a really Stellar buy, But now your hooked and no turning back...Lol...Right On! Your band mates are also going to notice them right away....band3

CONGRATS on joining the club! I was fortunate enough to complete my first (and only) Camco kit thanks to the help of fellow forum-member DOLFAN54 (Steve) a short time ago. I'm still in search of the original rail consolette and a functioning cymbal mount. If anyone's got any "leads" I'd love to hear from you.I think my kit might be a distant "relative" of yours (lol). I finally got a chance to take them out last night to play 'em for the first time. What a great way to ring in the New Year!ENJOY yours!Clapping Happy2

I don't have a mount to sell right now.ButFYI the tom mount like the one on BBk set is not a Camco made .Camco used these mounts but they were made buy W&A you will fine these same mounts on Gretsch and Slingerland set's of the 60's....Mikey

Been wanting one ever since I knew about them, so 10-15 years or so. I am always a Ludwig guy, but my goal is to have one vintage kit from each American manufacturer. So far I've got Ludwig, Slingerland, Rogers and now Camco. Next is a Gretsch.

1961 to 1965 4 ply Jasper, and either orphans or a possibly a special order with large 13 and 16" toms and a small 20" bass drum. No doubt!

Awesome little set. I have an Oaklawn BDP 14x22 that Its been without its fellow toms for years. I was watching these too but Camco prices are really getting out of reach...You will have a great new year riding those puppies! A tip of the hat to Mr. George Way. Gone but never forgotten...

I thought the price was fair that I paid, but as I said before, I had seen them in person, so I was willing to go higher. Let's talk about the 22, maybe a swap or outright sale? PM me if interested in starting a conversation about the drum.
