This matching four piece kit from 1965 arrived on Friday and I am not disappointed. The shells are in great shape as well as the wrap. The matching Supra is "foggy" looking but will shine with a little of elbow grease. The inlays are basically being held on by the tension rods but appear original and salvageable. The only real bummer is the heads. They are cashed, but how often does a vintage kit show up with new heads. There is some tom rash and dings throughout but that is to be expected. One thing that really stood out to me is the condition of the paint on the inside of the shells. When I opened one of the toms, a small of paint came over me. I assumed they must be re-painted because they looked so nice. But then I saw a date stamp. Once these are re-skinned they will sound amazing. What do you guys use to clean and polish the Supras? I think this one can really end up looking great.

Chrome is very touchy. Soft cloth with soap and water first to remove heavy dust/dirt. All cotton cloths, always, 100%. Then, a high end chrome polish, or Brasso is what I use.
A polishing cloth after removal to bring to a luster.
Then, handle the drum only with cloth gloves.flower

Early 60's Camco Oaklawns Champagne Sparkle
I used a sponge semi-soaked with bleach and soap to cut the grime on the exterior of a '67 supra. I taped a piece of paper over the date stamp on the inside of the shell before cleaning it.
I used a turtle-wax chrome polish afterwards.
I use a very light solution of dawn and warm water, Dry and clean with a soft cotton towel . Then simichrome polish.
What sizes you got there? I have a keystone red sparkle 13" tom and matching 16" floor. No bass to go with though. If you ever sell these, I'm in.
Not a Guru, just addicted to drums

Those shells hold that beautiful historic aroma of paint inside like a time capsule!
I have that same Red Sparkle set in those sizes and year with the matching Jazz Festival snare. Great kit!
