Watched last night. It was a good movie, not blown away or anything but it was well done and entertaining. I thought Bruce Springsteen did a very good job in the film. I like to watch documentaries about singers and bands, good fun! Especially since I'm not out gigging on the weekend like most of you guys, I need something to do.

Thank you!

Make sure to catch "Muscle Shoals" - also on Netflix streaming as well.

Several good music docs there right now including "Beware of Mr. Baker" and "Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train a Comin'"

Just a thought... the frustration expressed by a lot of the back-up singers in this movie comes from people who really wanted to be front and center stage instead of 'in the background.' I can dig that, I get it that they wanted to have big solo careers, but it also made me realize that I've always been perfectly happy/satisfied just being the drummer in the band. I never had that kind of ego that demanded of me to be the center of attention in any band I've been in. I was just happy to be playing with some other really great musicians, to be part of a good band. That, 'I have to be in the spotlight' stuff just never really occurred to me, or ever concerned me. I'm happy being a side-man.

I watched it several months ago and highly recommend it. Should be required viewing for anyone considering a career in popular music. Also watched "Muscle Shoals" and "Beware of Mr. Baker" and give both films equally high recommendations, even though their subject matter may seem somewhat esoteric to the current generation of listeners unfamiliar with authentic southern 'rhythm and blues' and its consequent 'British invasion' of the 1960's. It is the Africans brought to these shores who originated American Rock 'n 'Roll, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, and the other musics we drum enthusiasts hold so dear!

Keep on Pl
