KO - I will bring it up at the next meeting. How is the Prophetstown Drum Ambassadors Show shaping up? It's at your house, right?

CTMichaelV - You don't have to move here. You can just visit once a year, but be sure to bring stuff to sell and trade.

We actually have a few things going in the area. There is a show/swap south of Kansas City in Pittsburg, KS, every March. I have a Vintage Drum Garage Sale once a year in late Spring. There are dedicated drum shops in Kansas City, MO, Wichita, KS, Topeka, KS and Lincoln, NE. Manufacturers in Gladstone, MO (C&C) and Topeka, KS (TreeHouse).

There are also many gigging drummers who play vintage drums in the area. Not enough gigs to go around, but several types of venues, from casinos to Branson, Mo theaters to Jazz clubs and lots of rock stages. There is a decent sized group of knowledgeable collectors. Many people with nicer drums, nicer cymbals, larger collections. It keeps you humble. Finding gems locally a bit difficult. If you miss out on something on Craigslist, you probably can figure out who got it within a day or two.

Hey KC!! I am up in Lincoln-Omaha NE. Area. Any chance you have a way for me to keep tabs on the next time you are doing a drum show/swap? I would be interested in heading down, Maybe even selling some.

Also, how was the turnout for this one?

Thanks, Ryan

Ryan - We had one vendor from Lincoln again this year. If you do Facebook, the group to join is called KC Drum Ambassadors. Otherwise, watch local Craigslist in Kansas City or here for announcements. There is some general planning for having Vol. 3 next April or May. We are a ways from that, so nothing is set in stone. I also have an annual vintage drum garage sale. Next year will be the seventh one. I also list it in Kansas City Craigslist or here.

Just message me in the Spring and I will give you an update.

Rick
