Kansas City Area Vintage Drum Garage Sale Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Loading...

For all Kansas City area forum members:

I am going to hold my 3rd Annual Vintage Drum Garage Sale on June 21 at my house in Overland Park. Come browse or just meet some other vintage drum enthusiasts.

Forum members are invited to bring things to sell or swap. If you are bringing something, PM me so that I can plan on you being there. This will be in my garage/driveway, so: 1. hopefully the weather will cooperate and 2. hopefully there will be enough space. I can expand into the backyard if necessary.

Watch for details on Kansas City Craigslist under Musical Instruments For Sale by Owner.

Rick

A quick update regarding this gathering.

I acquired several hundred pounds of drum parts yesterday. It is not the motherload of New Old Stock rare parts. However, there are many, many useable vintage parts here. Everything is covered in sawdust due to where they were stored, but the parts themselves seem to be in nice condition.

It includes things from American companies Ludwig, Gretsch, Slingerland, and Leedy and several Asian companies like TAMA, Yamaha and Pearl. There are lots of lugs, tension rods, T-rods, leg mounts, RIMS mounts, memory locks, many long tension rods and claws from single tension marching drums, tom arms, L-arms, spurs, and lots of miscellaneous stuff. There is also a fair amount of new modern parts for custom work - tube lugs, tension rods, brackets, claws, etc.... I did not take the opportunity to search every box or bin, but just bought the entire lot. I then moved everything into a storage room.

I hope to sort through them before next week, but will probably end up setting out the many boxes and tubs for people to search through for themselves. For those on the forum who do not make it next week, at a later date I will get these organized and try to find them new homes.

This should keep me out of trouble for a while.

Rick

I appreciate the enthusaism but please hold your specific requests for a while. After next weekend I will have some tiime to figure out what I have, take some detailed pictures and list it in the For Sale section. I truly do not know a lot of the specifics on what I have.

I will try to look through the wanted section first before listing for the entire forum. My goal today was to share some news about a recent purchase. As I said in my post, for those who are not in Kansas City, at a future date I will get the ball rolling on finding these parts new homes.
