I just tuned up a 15"er and i must admit i am taken back by the tonality of this drum.Even beside my other 14 and 16" ers, this is by far "richer"sounding to me...It seems Kent was the only one who believed in this size back in the day...Do you think they felt the same way i do?
Kent 15" Floor Last viewed: 1 hour ago
Kent offered a 14"x14", 15"x15" and a 16"x16" early 60's, I believe they were the only one offering the 15"x15" at the time. The 15" does have a great sound, not as big in sound as a 16" and not as small as the 14" but just right, enjoy!

Sounds like a great drum.
Nice findKeep on Pl
Do you a photo?
I have a Kent 9x13 - mid 60's I think. I'm using with my 58 Gretsch 4pc off the hats.......it sounds good too.
You can see it in the attached .........
Cheers,
I have a Gretsch starlite 22 & 13,and i put the 15" kent in with it,and it matches the sound perfectly.I know floor toms are not as crucial to the overall blend, but Kent drums are surprisingly well matched to Gretsch, and the aged orange sparkle does,nt look that bad beside the starliteJump For Joy...pics in a week or so.

It's all in the shell my man!

Good to see you back here Mouse. We need a Kent expert to settle things now and then. After checking into the constrution of Kent shells, they are way more unique than i ever thought.A secret only known by a fewWalking
Kent didn't use reinforcement hoops, they didn't have to, they knew how to make a great shell...Mouse
So true...Likely one of Americas best kept secrets in the drum biz.Every now and then someone flys under the radar.Look at the original Gladstone drums. Its like finding the Hope diamond of drums.
