Keep looking. The drum that you are asking about is almost certainly one of those crummy light weight Asian import drums that sound--for lack of better descriptive words--boingy.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I found this off of craigslist thanks to 1966bmx. I found Donnie's 8 lug snare at an antique store. I have also purchased two six lug Kent snares off of ebay. I sold both to Donnie and one was museum quality. Here is the one I had the edge work done. Wrap is amazing and it sounds as good as it looks.

Donnie and I are both Kent fans and he has what I think is the coolest Kent set ever.

Now that is a nice looking snare. I've heard "boingy" used to describe toms, so hearing it to describe a snare…yeah, I'll keep looking!

Yep Manny got one of my 8 lugs for me . 6 of my 9 Kent snares are 8 lug . I have 3 6 lug in my collection . But I don't play em as I tune my snare pretty tight . And the 6 lug model seems to choke . And with such a thin shell and no re rings I worry about crushing or bending the shell .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..
