Hi everyone. I frequent the forum, mostly to look at the great pictures of these great kits you all have. I secured a snare drum off of kijiji for a decent price. The seller says its a Rogers but through my research, I can't find this drum anywhere. One thing to keep in mind is some drums in my area that go on kijiji list the drum brand off of the batter head name sometimes. These are all the pictures the seller has until I see the drum on the 27 th.

If you're not happy get a refund. The seller misrepresented the drum to you. Intentionally or not it doesn't matter.

Yes ill look the drum over and see if its worth buying....he doesn't want too much for it so if it turns out solid, I won't be put out......just bummed about the misrepresentation that's all. But im not surprised because there are a lot of people who are either misinformed or plain do notknow what they have.

Actually, that is a Rogers snare, and it was made in the USA.
It is a Rogers Series II from late `70s.
Not even as good as the MIJ stuff from the same time period. Lugs were plastic with foil tape to make them look like chrome.

That's interesting. So the Series II was a cheap import series after the 360/380 series but before the Rogers name was sold off to Brook Mays and Yamaha. I didn't know there was another cheap import series in the timeline bearing the Rogers name. So who made it?

I am almost certain the Series II drums were advertised as made right here in the USA, and not an import at all. Not a success at all, but not imported.
They are known for being the cheapest Rogers drums ever, in quality. The R-360 and R-380 drums are better.
It was a part of the quick decline in quality, and market share, that Rogers saw then.
It was supposed to be "an American answer to the imports." That is from Rob Cooks book on Rogers.
