Jacks was on Boylston st around the corner from Berklee school. Was there forever. That`s the one I frequented all the time. Owner retired and could only run a small shop in the Cape where they live now. I heard he only did that to keep his gazillion loyal customers happy. Very famous drum shop with many celebrity visitors. I live in Boston.

The original owner, Jack Adams is the father of Joan Vater of Vater percussion. Jacks used to make sticks in the basement.

Great stuff,

I would definitely try to find out more from the shop-owners.

They indeed might remember these unique drums.

Please let us know the outcome of your inquiries.

It’s fascinating to see the condition these drums are in.

Even the 2 bolts to tighten the double-tom arm look almost untouched. They normally show a great deal of wear. The original owner must have loved his Camcos a lot.

Great, I'm not to far from Cape might be time for road trip.

He sure did take care of them.

On quick inspection the only things I might need to find is:

A front head with logo

2 rubber feet for bass spurs

Camco drum key for snare key holder

A set screw for one of the mufflers that holds the knob on.

Amazing he kept all the hardware screws with the mufflers so they are there.

One muffler with the set screw missing has the felt quite worn but that is it.

Read that most took out mufflers was this because of rattle or other reasons?

Wanted to put them back on but was curious .

And also has the key for the tom mount and bass drum.

Thanks.

Keep you updated

Thanks everyone for the kind words and replies.

I am quite happy with these.

I was amazed at how smooth it was taken off the bass drum head.

The quality is amazing, even with such a small task as that.

Slingalud send me a PM if you like with how much you want for all the items you mention.

Also would be great to have any drum feature in a article nevermind one that I own.

let me know more about how that could be done.

Thanks Wayne

This has been a real treat to follow. Great looking Camco's. One of the nicest I've seen. I was at Jacks Drum Shop once in Boston long ago in the early 70's. I was really too young to appreciate what I was seeing there. But fun to look around at everything. I visit my Aunt on the Cape every so often. I'll need to stop at the new place in Hyannis next time I'm there.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

oddball and Glenn, thanks for the info and sending me back to the good old days.

I used to go up to Boston quite a bit and that was a great drum shop and not sure if you guys remember E.U.Wurlitzer up near there also had several floors and each floor was it's own department. The drum department was sweet there also.

Thanks for the tips Slingalud. That is one think I can say that these drums are build solid. No skimping that I can see.
