I usually pass on imports with a six-lug bass and floor tom.As a matter of fact,I bought a Pacific set with FIVE lug toms and immediately traded for the CB 700's I'm working on now.Clock-face lugs 14/18/22.The price was right-a total of $50 w/extra Stagg 13"hi hats.By the way-there is a pretty nice 8 lug 16x16 Ideal F.T.that came with the CB's if anyone is in need-red sparkle no rerings.
This is where I'm at as well. I don't even like to pick up 6-lug 16x16s. I suppose you could fill the holes and re-drill new ones -- but filling old holes and laying out the new holes is time very consuming... so I almost always pass on sets like these.
I have thought about building some jigs... maybe someday...
