Leedy 1948 - 1950 question Last viewed: 8 hours ago

OK....

I recently aquired three toms from a 1948, 49 or 50 kit. These were the only years they had the badge (aacording to this site).

The small tom is OK. It has 6 lugs up and 6 lugs down. It has small on one sie with a standard rim and the other side uses a smooth rim with clamp tension rods. (Normal? - I can't tell) One set of lugs is small and made of what appears to be a chrome plating, while the other appears to be nickle plated. Odd. but maybe that's the way iot;s suppose to be.

The lrger tom is very strange. It has only 7 lugs on one side, and 8 on the other. And, the luggs appear to have been messed up. It's very, very weird.

Please look at these two drums and tell me what the heck is going on here.

Oh, and if anyone wants these drums, I am open to offers. I really don't want, or need them. But it was part of the deal to get what I wanted.

the 3rd pic of the messed up tom, the top lugs are conn era, but the bottom lugs are snare lugs and are slingerland era! this was a tom but maybe a tacked bottom originally, the extra holes to the left you can see where it's been filled or patched it did have the same lug placement originally!, take more pics of the shell all the way around it! I hate when some iodiot mess up a great old drum with there moron ideas!! a drill and extra time is not a good thing!!Soap Box

OK, I have finished the clean up of the floor tom. The drums are 13", 14" and 16"

I tried to upload another pic, but the server gave me an error. - I will try again in a bit.
