Hey drum lovers, long time reader, first time poster here.
I happened uppon an old Leedy Ludwig knob tension kit. It came with all original hardware (hi-hat, straight stand, snare stand, kick pedal).
All the mounting hardware to put the tom on the bass drum is in tact and working. All the knobs turn and tune except for two on the batter side of the floor tom. Snare drum throw and all the components are fully functional. The kick drum and toms have calf skin heads, the snare has a more modern "rogers" head. Also as a side bonus there is a set of keystone bongos that pretty much match!
It's in really good shape, the guy I got them from said they had been in cases since he had got them in 1978.
Also in with the deal atleast eight cymbals, half of them are turkish era and half are probably from the 50's, nothing over 14"
Anyways, the reason I'm telling you guys all this is that I'm not really sure what the value of these are. I know they're super rare bacuase there is virtually no infor outside of the Ludwig book about these. Then all of the sudden guitar center puts one up for 13,000.00 just for the shell pack.
If anyone has any insight on these, please let me know.
I know everything is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. 13,000.00 seems crazy to me, but maybe to the right person?
Thanks in advance.
Allan.
