Leedy Broadway 1958 Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Firstly wanted to say great forum you all have here. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of the vintage drums you all have shared.

I recently dug out my first snare drum and wanted to share with you all here. I believe this to be a Leedy Broadway, but don't know much else about it...hoping you all can share some info/history with me!

I also wanted to ask about suggested sources for hardware. I'd like to restore this to playable condition and possibly further. Right now, I am missing one lug, have a stripped lug to doesn't hold well to the drum and do not have the badge (I took this off as a kid because it rattled DOH ). All other hardware appears to be in place and working great. Ignore the batter head on the reso side. In High School I stuffed this with a pillow and topped it with a kevlar head as a practice snare for marching band...again DOH (go figure it has a stripped lug now).

Happy to answer any questions!

*Edit* - My photos posted HUGE, so I've removed them and add this link to my imgur gallery: http://imgur.com/a/SWZvA

Thanks for the welcome! The sales slick is very cool to see, will probably have to print that out and put it up somewhere. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to help!

Also, who hasn't messed with a drum when they were younger only to be like DOH

Don't feel too bad, it's all part of the character and story of the drum!

Welcome
