Leedy Snare Cleveland CL Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I have a 1941 WMP 8 x 14 Leedy Broadway, and it's three ply, so they had stopped with the solid shells by then. It's a fantastic drum though, and I play it quite a bit.

Most likely, a few solid shells slipped through or were special ordered after 1939. There are definitely some contradictions out there.

I've seen a solid shell Leedy Ludwig, so they had or could make them into the early '50s.

Yeah, for some reason, they made several solid shell L&L snare drums in the 1950's. I think they were probably left over Ludwig & Ludwig shells from the late 30's. After the merger of Ludwig and Leedy, drums with the Imperial lugs were sold as lower line Leedy & Ludwigs to use up existing old stock.
