Leedy (WWII Badge) Snare Drum Last viewed: 21 hours ago

Loading...

I just picked up this shell yesterday. I started trying to find the badge on here today. Found it next to the badge that says "this came off a WWII drum." The shell size is 16x12!!! Yes that is 16 diameter and 12 deep. Someone before me I think painted it red. The hardware has seen better days and I think it is missing one of the tension rods since there are 8 holes and 7 rods. (I know, I should work for NASA) The hoops are both wood and in great condition over all. The number 3511 is stamped inside. Anyone got any info on this old drum?

You have a leedy field snare drum from november 1935 the numbers stamped inside the shell 3511 means the year and month it was built! this is a pic of one that I have, what size is yours?

Should I try to clean up the rods? Should I try to strip the paint off it? Is there any value to it?

Unfortunately these old marchers don't sell for much, send Mikey777 a pm or better yet an email with your needs, he's our parts guru!
