Just had to mention this. Legacy drummer responded to my "about to give up" thread in the genaral drum question section. He gave me a nice Remo practice drum set. Not just one pad but one you can hook up a kick pedal and has three other pads. And he drug it all the way from Colorado to Illinois!

Bobby, I enjoyed meeting you and showing you my drums and thanks so much for taking time from your Christmas visit to bring me the practice pad kit. Next time we head west I will look you up and bring you a gift! And now I can practice anytime!

A+ I have gotten a huge kick out of meeting forum members in-person each and every time I got the chance. Turns out there are lots of good/cool people who participate in the daily goings-on/fun at VDF. It's even more fun face to face.
