Probably because of the price. I'm not a Gretsch guy, but find it hard to believe that anyone would pay that much just for a bass drum. I'm not trying to say it's not worth the price...just don't know if anyone would pay it.

Well, you are officially a round badge dude now that you've located your first 14x18 bass. It will sell if you get to the wider market. I've seen the entire 18,12,14 kit sell for as must as $8000 or so. Good luck to you and that other guy that has been looking for that drum for 8 years and can afford it.
