Little help with a Rogers kit Last viewed: 48 minutes ago

Hoping you guys can help me out with a kit I'm looking at purchasing. From what I have been able to find it looks like a 9/72 kit made in 1975 judging by the serial number with no letter in front and not underlined. The set comes with the bass, three toms and two floor toms. I have not been able to get the sizes yet. Any further info on this would be awesome as it give me sme bargaining power. Any ballpark estimates would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Guessing 12-13-14-16-18-22 on sizes. 10 lug bd, 6 & 8 lug toms. Floor tom is bigger question as to second size. Unusual configuration if those are the sizes. Guessing add on toms at some point.

If those are in good shape, they would make a very versatile setup. Without sizes, ballpark pricing is just that. 2 16's vs 16-18 floor toms? Any hardware? Mount stand for the 3rd tom?

Start at $700 and work up for the shells. If you don't want all the shells, maybe figure selling those you don't want/need to recoup some funds. Market is soft and maybe you can make a deal work for you. Good luck.

I think you are close to knowing what you are looking at,one other clue may be the sticker, the size, and the fact there is no model designation may help you determine more closely exactly the year, some 9/72 kits were 3 ply rather than 5,If those were memriloc, 600.00 700.00 would be about right, swivo is more desirable, traditional sizes also more desirable,I agree with previous poster,If good cond and no mods and mounting hardware all there 700.00 to 1000.00 would be fair IMO.If no stand to mount smallest tom, figure that into your offer, cast swivo tom arms are going for 75.00 ish machined cleveland dayton era 100.00 to 125.00, Great kit and good luck.Hopefully the Rogers experts will along to help clarify.Welcome to the forum by the way.

Thanks for the welcome.

It's been a long time since I had a Rogers kit. I was lucky enough to get a 70's Rogers Big R double bass kit when I was a teenager. Sort of spoiled me for later drumming. I'm still trying to track that kit down. Never should have sold it. Hopefully I will be able to get a good look a this kit over the weekend. There is also a bunch of hardware, cymbals, etc.. for sale as well. If all goes well I may be able to get a pretty good deal.
