Hello. I have some Ludwig mapple classic (late 80's/early 90's) toms that I bought that have the short classic lugs...2 holes per lug. I want to change these to the long lug (2 screws). I realize IF 2 of the holes line up I'll have 2 open holes per lug. My question is....do the long lug rods match up with the short lug holes? Has anyone done this and did it effect the quality of the sound? Thanks

hey Lenny, i have an orphan hollywood, the 12" has the small lugs, rest of the kit has the large lugs. the holes do not line up between the two sizes. hope this helps.

I also do not think the holes will line up on this. Seems like i tried it in the past on one.

Those look like the "big" small lugs. The long lugs (mach) are basically the full length of the shell. Here's an example on my 15" tom. Thanks
