It's basically, a Sears and Roebuck snare drum from (what appears to be) the 1940's-possibly early 50's(??).
It appears to be a 12" mahogany shell (can't be sure until it gets here) with solid maple hoops.
It's a single-tension tuning system with eight T-rods & claws.
It has a very simple throwoff design (similar to others I have seen on 'juvenile' drums).
The snare wires appear to be wire-wrapped linen or possibly silk(??)
The butt "plate" is metal.
The book(s) and papers included may be of historical interest and possibly worthy of adding photos of, here at the website, for reference material.
And it comes with the original drumsticks and the carrying strap, too!
I went over my budget by $1.00....and S/H, of course. ;) But, I think it was a pretty fair deal....I think I'll be happy with it.
:)
